IPL 2022 points table after Chennai vs Hyderabad match on May 1

Lucknow Super Giants have moved to the second spot on IPL 2022 points table after they registered their seventh win this season on Sunday (May 1). Lucknow now have 14 points and are only behind table-toppers Gujarat Titans, who have 16 points in 9 games. Delhi Capitals registered yet another loss this season and remained at 6th position with 8 points in 9 games.

In the second match of the day, Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad but remained at the ninth spot. Though the recent win under the captaincy of MS Dhoni kept Chennai fans' hope alive of playoffs qualification as the team now have six points in nine games.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad remained at the 4th spot despite the defeat with 10 points in 9 games. Rajasthan Royals, who are in the third spot, would be hoping to win their match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday and strengthen their position in the top half of the IPL 2022 team rankings.

Kolkata are at the ninth position and they would look to snap their five-match losing streak, keeping playoffs qualification hopes alive.

Moreover, Jos Buttler continues to be the leading run-scorer in IPL 2022 with 566 runs in 9 games and currently holding the orange cap. Rajasthan's Yuzvendra Chahal is currently holding the purple cap with 19 wickets in 9 matches.
