Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has come out in the support of Virat Kohli, after his below par performance in IPL 2022.

Kohli scored just 341 runs in 16 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL this year. Kohli hasn't scored an international century since November 2019.

In an interview with Sportskeeda Cricket, Akhtar said, "You say good things about Virat Kohli. Give him respect. Why do you not give Virat Kohli respect? As a Pakistani I am saying, he is the greatest player of all time. I can bet that he will score 110 centuries."

The cricketer-turned-commentator further said that Kohli will play till the age of 45 and he shouldn't get afraid as the current situation is preparing him to hit 110 centuries.

Virat Kohli is among the senior players who have been rested for the India home series against South Africa starting from June 9.
