After RCB, the Gujarat Titans too failed to breach the Chepauk fortress as the Chennai Super Kings thrashed the visitors by 63 runs in match 7 of IPL 2024 on Tuesday.

Shubman Gill's decision to bowl first backfired as CSK posted a mammoth 206/6.

Rachin Ravindra took the hosts off to a flying start with a fiery 20-ball-46 before Shivam Dube lit up Chepauk with 51 off just 23 balls.

Gujarat's run-chase began on a disastrous note as they found themselves 3 down for 55.

Sai Sudharsan was the top-scorer with 37 but consumed 31 deliveries in the process.

Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande and Mustafizur Rahman took 2 wickets each as Gujarat managed just 143/8 in reply.

Interestingly, all 7 games so far in IPL 2024 have been won by the home side.

Defending champions CSK claimed their 2nd consecutive win and will be the team to beat once again. GT on the other hand lost its first game after beating Mumbai Indians in their opening encounter.
