Shreyas Iyer

The 3rd-most expensive buy of the auction on day 1 was Shreyas Iyer. Kolkata Knight Riders, who are in search of a new captain, roped in the youngster for ₹12.25 crore. He had a base price of ₹2 crore.

Liam Livingstone

Punjab Kings went all out for Liam Livingstone and after a huge bidding war, they finally bought him for ₹11.50 crore. Livingstone is now the 2nd-most expensive Englishman in the history of the IPL.

Shardul Thakur

4 players were sold for a price of ₹10.75 crore but Shardul Thakur was a steal by the Delhi Capitals in that amount. While he has scored some crucial runs at a good strike rate lower down the order for India, Thakur has also made a reputation of being a partnership breaker.
