Lucknow Super Giants have roped in Australian pacer Andrew Tye as a replacement for English pacer Mark Wood ahead of start of IPL 2022.

Tye has been in great form in the shortest format of cricket and produced a match-winning 3 for 15 for Perth Scorchers in the final of the Big Bash League.

The 35-year-old Australian pacer is known for his death bowling skills and he is a known entity in the Indian Premier League given he won the purple cap in IPL 2018. Tye has picked 40 wickets in 27 IPL matches so far.

Earlier, Wood was ruled out of this year's IPL after injuring his elbow during England's first Test against West Indies.

Lucknow will begin their IPL 2022 campaign against Gujarat Titans on March 28.
