Former Australian cricketer and Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting has said that he was keeping an eye on Kuldeep Yadav for a few years and was waiting for a chance to get him into the team.

In The Delhi Capitals podcast, Ricky Ponting said that Kuldeep was not getting a chance at KKR for a couple of years and he thought that if he brought Kuldeep into Delhi Capitals and gave him lots of confidence then he could be one of the finds of the tournament.
Ponting further said that there will be ups and downs in T20 cricket with spinners but Kuldeep will be treated the same by the team and the results will not affect it.
Delhi Capitals' Kuldeep has taken 10 wickets in 4 matches in IPL 2022 so far and is the third bowler with most wickets this IPL season after Yuzvendra Chahal and Umesh Yadav.
