Indian shuttler HS Prannoy created history by clinching the men's singles title at the Malaysia Masters in Kuala Lumpur.

It was the maiden BWF World Tour title for the World no. 9, who beat China's Weng Hong Yang in an intense battle.

The 30-year-old overcame Yang 21-19, 13-21, 21-18 in a tiring finale that lasted 1 hour and 34 minutes.
