In the battle between who will score more goals at the FIFA World Cup 2022 between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, a few spectators came out in support of Sanju Samson as well.

Well not for scoring goals of course but fans raised banners reading 'We support you Sanju Samson' during the quadrennial tournament in Qatar, after the wicketkeeper-batter was dropped from Team India's playing XI for the 2nd ODI vs New Zealand.

Fans were fuming after the Kerala lad didn't play a single T20I against New Zealand. Stand-in captain Hardik Pandya had then explained it to be an "unfortunate" case and "strategic" reason.

Samson returned to the playing XI for the 1st ODI but was dropped from the 2nd game of the series.
