Tributes were paid to the late Pele before kick-off in Sunday's Premier League matches between Tottenham and Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest and Chelsea.

A minute's applause was observed at both stadiums.

Pele, the Brazilian king of football who won a record three World Cups and became one of the most commanding sports figures of the last century, passed away on December 29 after battling colon cancer. He was 82.
