Just a couple of days after stating that he had 'nothing more left to achieve,' Lionel Messi said that he is open to playing in the FIFA World Cup 2026 and commented that he is going to keep playing football.

The 35-year-old, who recently fulfilled his dream of winning a FIFA World Cup, told a sports newspaper in Argentina that because of age it'll be difficult to make it to the 2026 World Cup but he loves playing football. And till the time he feels in good shape, he will keep at it.

'It seems like a long time until the next World Cup, but it depends on how my career is going,' added Messi.
