Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks as defending champions Manchester City made light work of arch-rivals Manchester United.

The Citizens were just too good for Erik ten Hag’s men as they ran riot at the Etihad. It was an abject display from the Red Devils, one that saw them trail 0-4 in just the first half.

Even though United did manage a few goals in the second half, City had taken the foot off the pedal. While new signing Antony did score a brilliant goal, it was Anthony Martial who bagged a brace for United.

But those 3 goals flattered United’s display on the day where Pep Guardiola’s side could easily have scored 8-9 with the trio of Haaland, Foden & De Bruyne just too good for their derby rivals.

With the victory, City moved within a point of league leaders Arsenal while United stay 6th on 12 points.
