It will be for the first time since 2002 when Uruguay will enter the World Cup finals without their manager Oscar Washington Tabarez, who coached them for 15 years.
Uruguay will begin their World Cup 2022 campaign against South Korea on November 24 before La Celeste take on Portugal on November 29.
The South American nation parted ways with their best-ever coach following poor results in the qualifying round.

Oscar Washington Tabarez's legacy and Uruguay's record in FIFA World Cups
After missing out in 2006, Tabarez led Uruguay to the World Cup semifinals in 2010 where they lost to the Netherlands in South Africa. He then steered Uruguay to the knock-out stages in 2014 where a James Rodriguez-inspired Colombia defeated them in the last 16. Four years ago in Russia, Uruguay again punched above their weight to reach the quarter-finals.
Under the guidance of new head coach Diego Alonso, La Celeste entered the 2022 Qatar World Cup as the third-placed team in South American qualifiers behind continental heavyweights Brazil and Argentina. In the nine games, he has been in charge of Uruguay, Alonso has won seven.
Uruguay team news
Uruguay are used to upsetting the odds and in Qatar, they will again be a force to be reckoned with. Blessed with a squad of exciting youngsters blended with a rich spine of experience, Uruguay have all the ingredients to again make a deep run into the tournament.
But it will probably also be the last World Cup for some of the country's biggest stars. The likes of Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani among others are in their late 30s.
However, with exciting younger talent such as Liverpool's Darwin Nunez, Tottenham's Rodrigo Bentancur and Federico Valverde of Real Madrid, Uruguay look like a solid side to qualify from a group that contains Portugal, South Korea and Ghana.
