FIFA World Cup 2022 Group E Standings: Spain & Japan qualify; Germany, Costa Rica knocked out

In Group E of FIFA World Cup 2022, 2010 World Cup winners Spain had a dramatic night as they qualified for the Round of 16 after edging out Germany who defeated Costa Rica 4-2 in their final group game. 

While Japan who defeated Spain to register a controversial 2-1 win ended the group campaign as table leaders, following them were their opponents Spain. Germany who were at 3rd spot and the Ticos who were at 3rd and 4th place respectively were knocked out.

While Japan face Croatia next on 5th December, Spain is set to face Morocco on December 6th in the round of 16.
