The dynamics of the Group C table were of interest until the last minute. While Poland rode on sheer luck, edging out Mexico on goal difference to qualify for the last-16, Argentina defeated Poland 2-0.
Argentina who in the opening game were languishing at the bottom of the rankings ended Group games atop the table with 6 points. Following them were Robert Lewandowski's Poland with 4 points. They sat in 2nd spot due to a better goal difference in comparison to Mexico who finished in third. Saudi who suffered a 2-1 loss in their final group game vs Mexico were eliminated, finishing in the 4th spot.
Poland will next face France on December 4th, and their opponents of the final game will face Australia on the same day at 12.30 am.
