Cristiano Ronaldo added yet another feather to an already illustrious cap as he became the first player to score at five Fifa World Cups.

CR7 converted from the spot to put Portugal ahead in their FIFA World Cup 2022 Group H game vs Ghana, which Portugal eventually won 3-2.

His strike woke up Ghana as captain Andre Ayew equalised in the 73rd minute. That was in fact, the first goal scored by an African nation at this World Cup.

Bruno Fernandes then cut through the defence of Ghana and Joao Felix easily found the net to restore Portugal's lead yet again. Rafael Leao then doubled the advantage just 2 minutes later.

The game lit up in the dying moments as Osman Bukari pulled one back for Ghana but it was too late to stage a comeback.

The scoreline didn't change thereafter as Portugal won their opening match of a World Cup for the first time since a 1-0 win against Angola in 2006.
