Roberto Firmino made the lead more comfortable stretching it to 3-1 followed by the final nail in the coffin by Fabinho who scored in the injury time to ensure Liverpool won 4-1.

Tottenham meanwhile had a similar story and conceded an early goal at home against Morecambe. The 33rd min strike remained the difference between the two sides till late in the 2nd half.

Antonio Conte pressed the panic button by the 70th min mark with a flurry of substitutions as the result came pretty instantly.
