'You can go with your head held high': Ravi Shastri praises Virat Kohli's Test captaincy era

After Virat Kohli stepped down as Test captain, India former head coach Ravi Shastri sent a heart-warming message to Delhi cricketer on social media and said that it is a sad day for him personally as the current team was built by them.

In a tweet, Shastri praised Kohli and wrote "you can go with your head held high."

He further added that the 33-year-old batter was India's most aggressive and successful captain, and few have achieved what Kohli did as captain.

Notably, the Kohli-Shastri duo transformed the red-ball side and made them the best traveling side in Test cricket. During the Kohli-Shastri era, India never lost a Test series at home and won two-Test series in Australia.
