Women's Asia Cup: India beat Malaysia in rain-curtailed encounter, notch up second consecutive win

The Indian women's cricket team made it two wins in two in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 as they beat Malaysia by 30 runs in a rain-curtailed encounter at the Sylhet International cricket stadium. 

India were forced to bat first. Sabbhineni Meghana who replaced the rested Smriti Mandhana put together a brilliant 116-run opening partnership along with Shafali Verma. brilliantly, Meghana top-scored with 69 as the Women in Blue posted a massive 181 on the board.

Malaysia, in reply, were rocked early and when rain intervened, they were 16/2 after 5.2 overs. 

With the weather gods refusing to relent, Team India were adjudged the winners by 30 runs using the DLS method.

Harmanpreet Kaur's side will next face the UAE in their 3rd match on October 4.
