Drama ensued even after Asian Cricket Council issued a clarification after PCB chief Najam Sethi called the announcement of 2023 and 2024 Asia Cup calendars unilateral.

Questioning their clarification, PCB thanked ACC for confirming that the decision was taken unilaterally.

As per PCB, the recommendations need to be approved by ACC Board which has neither met since 13 Dec 2022 nor granted approvals through circular resolution.

ACC had earlier stated that the calendar was approved by its Development Committee and Finance & Marketing Committee in a meeting held on December 13th, 2022, and was later sent for approval through mail to the concerned boards.
