A life-size statue of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will be installed at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where Tendulkar played his final game for India in 2013.

The Mumbai Cricket Association wants to honour the Bharat Ratna recipient on his 50th birthday, and the statue is expected to come up around Tendulkar's birthday on April 24 or during the ODI World Cup in October-November later this year.

Tendulkar already has a stand named after him at the iconic venue.
