Reports: Hardik Pandya likely to be the captain of Ahmedabad franchise in IPL 2022

After getting the letter of intent (LOI) from BCCI, the road is clear for the new IPL franchise Ahmedabad to start forming their team management ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction.

According to a report in the Times of India, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is likely to be captain of the Ahmedabad franchise.

Earlier, as per various media reports, India former pacer Ashish Nehra and former India coach Gary Kirsten have been approached by the Ahmedabad franchise for coaching and mentorship role.

The IPL 2022 mega auction is tentatively scheduled to take place in the second week of February and the two new IPL franchises have to submit the name of three players whom they want to buy ahead of the auction.

However, the dates of the IPL 2022 mega auction may get pushed back given the rising Covid-19 cases in the country.
