After much delay, BCCI has started clearing the dues of domestic cricketers who suffered financially after the 2020-21 season was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

While talking to news agency PTI, a BCCI official said that the board has started clearing compensation amounts for not having the Ranji Trophy last season.

Notably, BCCI has announced in September that the players who took part in the 2019-20 Ranji season will get a 50 percent match fee as compensation for the 2020-21 season.

Last September, BCCI also revised the pay scale of domestic players. According to the revised pay scale, the senior men will earn between Rs 40,000 to 60,000 per day of cricket, while senior women to receive up to Rs 20,000 per day.
