The Pakistan Cricket Board's medical team has advised him further rest for 4-6 weeks, meaning he won’t be available for the continental competition.

The left-arm pacer though is expected to be fit for the T20 World Cup in Australia.

The 22-year-old had played a crucial role in Pakistan's victory against India in the 2021 T20 World Cup. The Men in Green will certainly miss the ace pacer's services in their Asia Cup opener against arch-rivals India.
