Reacting to the online abuse he faced after India lost to Pakistan in the 2021 World T20 game, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami said that there is no cure for such kind of thinking.

While speaking to The Indian Express, Shami said that If you consider a player as a hero and then behave this way, you are not being an Indian supporter. 'I feel one should not get hurt by comments made by such people,' added the pacer.

Shami added that players don't need to say what India means to them because they represent the country. The players don’t need to prove anything to anyone by saying or reacting to such trolls.

Earlier, Virat Kohli termed the online abuse of Shami as a "spineless" and "pathetic" act.
