After trying his hand at baseball batting last week, F1 driver Oscar Piastri swapped the home plate for the cricket crease on Monday.
The McLaren racer met his fellow Australian cricketers at Lord’s who took time out from their preparations for Wednesday’s second Ashes Test to bowl at Piastri in the nets at the ‘Home of Cricket.’
The 22-year-old from Melbourne, who now lives in London, took balls from fast bowler Mitchell Starc and spinner Nathan Lyon after facing pitches from St Louis Cardinals players in the London Stadium on Friday ahead of their MLB London Series double-header against the Chicago Cubs last weekend.
Last time he was in his preferred position, in the cockpit of an F1 car, Piastri finished 11th at the Canadian Grand Prix and races next at this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix.
