The next Future Tours Programme (FTP) of the ICC, starting in 2024, is likely to have a two and a half-month exclusive window for the Indian Premier League (IPL). If the development is true, India will not play international cricket during that time.

Talking about the IPL getting the extended window, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that IPL will have an official two-and-a-half-month window so that all the top international cricketers can participate in the biggest league of the world.

In the FTP draft of 2023-27, the season from the end of March to the start of June has been marked as the window of the IPL. Notably, IPL media rights were recently sold for ₹48,390 crores.

Australia and England would have a free window in January and July to August respectively for their domestic leagues, BBL and the Hundred. West Indies, Bangladesh and Pakistan would also likely get the free windows for their respective leagues.

The final draft is likely to be announced next week.
