In its review meeting, BCCI top brass shortlisted 20 players who will be rotated till the 2023 ODI World Cup, which will be played in October, later this year.

According to reports, during the review meeting, one of the recommendations was that among these key players, those who are injury prone or have had recent histories of injuries could be rested for parts or for most of the IPL 2023.

This, as per reports, is in accordance with BCCI's new policy which aims at managing the workloads and shifting the focus solely towards the major ICC tournaments.

The recommendation has been likely made in light of India's recent struggle with injuries that have hurt them the most in major tournaments in 2022.

India's campaign at the T20 World Cup 2022 & Asia Cup was marred with injuries with Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Deepak Chahar, all ruled out with major injuries.
