The Women in Blue have announced their white-ball squads for their upcoming tour of England in September.

While hard-hitting batter Kiran Navgire who impressed with her performances in the Women’s T20 Challenge got her maiden call-up in the shortest format, the inclusion of wicket-keeper Taniyaa Bhatia has once again raised a few eyebrows.

Bhatia has once again been selected despite her poor returns with the bat till date. In 53 T20Is, the wicket-keeper batter averages a mere 9.05 with a strike rate of 91.

Meanwhile, the T20I squad also sees the return of Richa Ghosh who was left out of the CWG team in favour of Taniyaa Bhatia.

The big headline though is the return of veteran pace spearhead Jhulan Goswami, who’s making a comeback to the Indian women's ODI squad.

She last featured for India during the ODI World Cup in New Zealand in March against Bangladesh. Along with Goswami, Jemimah Rodrigues is also making a return to the Indian fold in the 50-over format.

The Silver medallists from the Commonwealth Games will start their tour with three T20Is, starting September 10, followed by 3 ODIs with the tour set to conclude on September 24.
