In a big setback for Pakistan, star pacer Haris Rauf was ruled out of the remainder of the match against India in the Asia Cup.
Rauf, who bowled 5 overs during India's innings on Sunday, will not take any part on the reserve day.
Pakistan's bowling coach Morne Morkel confirmed the development, highlighting how Haris Rauf had pulled an oblique/side muscle and as a precautionary measure, will sit out the rest of the game.
With the World Cup less than a month away, the Pakistani team management doesn't want to take any chances with their speedster.
Rauf is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, having taken 9 wickets in 25 overs so far in the Asia Cup. It remains to be seen if Rauf takes any more part in the tournament at all, with the extent of damage yet unknown. Experts believe Rauf will need minimum one week to recover, and if that's the case, he will miss the remainder of the continental championships.
