Team India opening the batting with Rishabh Pant despite KL Rahul being back in the playing XI in the 2nd ODI vs the West Indies left many surprised but Rohit Sharma has an explanation for it.

The ODI skipper said that he was asked to try out something different. He wanted to try it one game and it's not a permanent thing. Shikhar Dhawan should be back for the next game. 'We don't mind losing a few games while trying out a few things. Because it is important to look at the long term goals,' added Rohit.

Rishabh Pant didn't impress as an opener and was out for just 18.
