Some fans had criticised Rohit Sharma's decision to declare India's 1st innings of the Mohali Test vs Sri Lanka when Ravindra Jadeja was looking good for a double hundred. But India's new Test captain revealed that it was Jadeja who asked him to declare.

After the emphatic victory, the Hitman said that it was Jadeja's decision to put Sri Lanka in, which shows how selfless he is. In fact, the all-rounder himself clarified that he had suggested a declaration to the team management, adding that he wanted the bowlers to make use of the variable bounce on the pitch.

Sri Lanka was bowled out under 200 in both innings with Jadeja ending up with 9 wickets in the Test, which got over within 3 days.
