IND vs SL: Ravichandran Ashwin becomes second-highest wicket taker for India in Test cricket

India's premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin surpassed Kapil Dev's tally of 434 wickets in Test cricket to become the second-highest wicket-taker for India.

Ashwin's 435th wicket in Test cricket came against Sri Lanka during the first Test at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali on March 6, 2022, when he took the wicket of Charith Asalanka.

Now Ashwin is only behind India's highest wicket-taker Anil Kumble, who took 619 wickets in 132 Test matches.

The off-spinner is the 4th Indian bowler to take more than 400 wickets in Test cricket.
