IND vs SL 2nd Test: Captain Rohit registers his 4th consecutive series whitewash across formats

India continued their unbeaten run in the Test series at home after they defeated Sri Lanka by 238 runs in the second and final match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Monday. Thus winning the series 2-0. Since 2012 India have not lost a Test series on home soil.

With yet another series win, Rohit Sharma achieved a unique feat in his short captaincy stint. Since his appointment as full-time captain, Rohit has not lost a single match across formats.

Earlier, resuming their innings from 28-1 on Day 3, Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne put a stiff resistance and scored patient 107 before he was cleaned up by Jasprit Bumrah. He stitched a 97-run stand with Kusal Mendis but failed to get any support from the other end after Mendis was sent back to the pavilion by Ashwin.

None of the other Sri Lankan batters survived against the Indian bowling unit as Ashwin had 4 scalps while Axar Patel took 2. Jasprit Bumrah, who took a fifer in the first innings, got three wickets in the second as Sri Lanka were bundled out for 208 with 35 minutes to go for the dinner on Day 3.
