Australian captain Pat Cummins will miss the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Cummins, who returned home after the completion of the second Test in Delhi due to his mother's illness, has decided to stay back to be with his family.

In his absence, vice-captain Steve Smith will take over the captaincy duties for the Indore Test that begins on March 1.

Smith, in fact, might end up captaining the Aussies in the fourth Test as well but a decision will only be taken later, depending on Cummins' availability.
