Deepak Chahar, who will make a comeback for the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe starting August 18, claimed that he could have made his comeback a few weeks ago and could have been part of the squad for the West Indies T20I series.

During a chat with News24, the pacer said that he could have made an international return but his thought process was to always give his 110%. 'Don't even play at 99 per cent. I believe I should be able to perform better than the time before I got injured,' added Deepak.

Chahar has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in February. The 29-year-old CSK all-rounder missed the entire 2022 season of the IPL 2022 and the series against South Africa and the tour of England.
