Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will return to cricket action this Saturday with a club cricket fixture.

Maxwell fractured his left fibula at a friend's birthday party days after Australia made a premature exit from the ICC T20 World Cup at home in November.

The 34-year-old will play his first competitive match in more than three months over the weekend. If passed fit, the all-rounder will play in Monday's Sheffield Shield fixture against South Australia.
