Former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi has expressed his disapproval of Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur's behavior during the third ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

Harmanpreet was visibly frustrated after being given out LBW and reacted by smashing her stumps with her bat. She also made derogatory remarks about the umpiring during the post-match presentation and sarcastically suggested that the umpires join the Bangladeshi team for the trophy ceremony.

In an interview with Samaa TV, Afridi commented on the incident, saying, "This is not just an issue with India. We've seen such behavior in the past, although it is rare in women's cricket. It was a significant event under ICC, and the punishment serves as an example for the future. While aggression is acceptable in cricket, controlled aggression is preferred, but this incident went too far."

As a consequence of her conduct, Harmanpreet Kaur was suspended for two matches after accumulating four demerit points. Unfortunately, this means she will likely miss two crucial knockout games at the Asian Games.
