As Team India set to begin their busy home season, former India head coach Ravi Shastri feels that Virat Kohli needs a 2-3 months break to recharge himself.
In a chat with former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar, Shastri said that the pressure of international cricket is immense, and if Kohli keeps focusing on his batting, taking one game at a time, or take one series break, then it will do him a world of good.
Shastri added that he has seen greats of the game quit captaincy to focus on their cricket whether it's Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, or MS Dhoni.
Shastri further added that Kohli has 3-4 years of cricket left in him and he can contribute as a team player and win matches for the country.
