Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant's absence after the unfortunate accident has opened up the captaincy spot in his IPL franchise, Delhi Capitals. As per a TOI report, however, Delhi Capitals are now thinking of approaching David Warner to lead the team in Pant's absence.
Since David Warner has captained IPL teams in the past, the management will speak to him, the source said.
As the wicketkeeper's slot is also now up for grabs, the franchise might also provide Sarfaraz Khan with a chance to don the gloves, the source informed.
While Pant's ligament tear is expected to keep him on the sidelines for a long time now, the 25-year-old's absence in the upcoming IPL, which is expected to begin mid-March, is the biggest cause of worry for his franchise.
