Cricket to be a part of the Asian Games 2022 after 8 years

In delighting news for fans, cricket will be a part of the 2022 Asian Games which are scheduled to take place from September 10 to September 25, in Hangzhou, China. It will be played in a T20 format.

Cricket made its debut at the Asian Games in 2010 when Bangladesh clinched the men's gold medal. Pakistan walked away with silver. In the 2014 edition, Sri Lanka claimed the men's gold while Pakistani women defended their title. Cricket however was not included in the 2018 Games in Jakarta.

The sport now makes a return to the Games after 8 years. Indian men's and women's cricket teams have never competed at the Asian Games.
