The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Indian sports commentator Akash Chopra lost their Twitter verified ticks after changing their display picture to tricolour in support of India's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.
According to the social media platform's policy, it is mandatory for verified accounts to use their real name and display photographs for their account. Hence, when BCCI changed their picture, X removed their verified check mark.
The X management will now verify the account and reinstate the blue tick if it meets all the criteria.
