AUS vs PAK: Steve Smith breaks Kumar Sangakkara's THIS record in third Test

Australia's Steve Smith has achieved yet another record in his stellar career. He became the fastest batter in red-ball cricket to reach 8000 runs. He achieved the milestone during the third test match against Pakistan on Thursday.

Smith broke Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakarra's record of fastest batter to reach 8000 runs. The Aussie batter reached 8000 runs mark in his 151st Test innings while the Sri Lankan had done it in his 152nd innings.

32-year-old Smith is the 33rd batter in the world to reach the 8000-run mark while seventh Australian to do so.

After starting his career as a leg spinner, Smith became one of the greatest Australian batter with 27 centuries at an average of 60.10.
