Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen put on an impressive display as she qualified for the quarter-finals of the Women’s 50 kg category.
Zareen was a class apart in comparison to her opponent from Mozambique, who just had no answers to the fierce punches landing at her face.
Such was the dominance from the 26-year-old that referee had to stop the contest (RSC) well before the end of the third round. Zareen will next face Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Troy Garton of New Zealand.

There was disappointment though for India’s Shiva Thapa, who lost to World Championships bronze medalist Reese Lynch.
Thapa, who started brightly by taking the first round, was no match for the Scottish boxer, who used his height and long reach to good effect in the final rounds to send the Indian packing.
