CWG: India’s Tejaswin Shankar wins India’s first track & field medal in Birmingham

With a jump of 2.22 metres, India’s Tejaswin Shakar bagged the bronze medal in the Men’s High Jump.

Shankar, who was a medal contender right from the get go, had to settle for bronze after failing to clear a height of 2.25 metres.

Shankar’s bronze is also India’s first track and field medal at the Commonwealth Games.

Australian cricketer Mitchell Starc’s brother Brandon Starc, the 2018 Gold Coast Champion picked up the Silver, while New Zealand’s Hamish Kerr took home the Gold in Men’s High Jump.
