CWG: India lose to Malaysia in Badminton Mixed Team Final, settle for Silver

Defending Champions India had to settle for silver in the badminton mixed team event.

The Indian side led by shuttlers PV Sindhu & Kidambi Srikanth were beaten 3-1 by Malaysia in the Gold medal match. Ace shuttler PV Sindhu was the only one who won her match.

The men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty, along with women’s doubles pair of Teresa Jolly & Gayatri Gopichand failed to win a single game against their opponents.

While Kidambi Srikanth did put up a tough fight, his close loss proved to be the turning point in the tie, with Malaysia taking home the honours thereafter.
