CWG: Avinash Sable wins Silver in Men’s 3000m Steeplechase

India’s Avinash Sable gave India their fourth medal in Athletics events, winning the silver in the Men’s 3000m steeplechase.

Avinash finished second with a time of 8:11.20, his personal best in the event. He also made a new national record in the process.

Avinash put his disappointing show in the World Championships finals behind him, and could very well have taken the Gold medal.

However, Kenya’s Abraham Kibiwot finished ahead of him by a few milliseconds and the 27-year-old from Maharashtra had to remain contend with a 2nd place finish
