Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has said that the former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh has left the country with the help of Narendra Modi government.

The MP claimed that Singh is not absconding but was made to move out of the country, which he could not have done without the Centre’s help.

Raut said former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate based on Singh’s allegations, and this was “very unfortunate and unethical”.

Param Bir Singh is facing investigation in a number of matters, including some extortion cases registered by the Maharashtra Police.
