In a tweet that has taken fans by surprise, rapper Snoop Dogg has assumed responsibility for being the mysterious celebrity entity behind the popular Twitter account on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) called CozmoMedici.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Junior, is no stranger to NFTs having launched a few of his own in the past.

The Twitter account also ran a poll earlier, inviting people to guess who runs it. Of the four options, Matt Bellamy of British rock band Muse got the most votes. The other three options were Elon Musk, Jason Derulo and Keyboard Monkey. There was even some mention of George Clooney — but no reference to Snoop Dogg was ever made.

The owner of CozmoMedici also has an account on top NFT platform OpenSea as well. This account has about 100 NFTs and some of these are priced at over a million dollars.

Snoop Dogg teamed up with singer Lionel Richie and Boy George, moving into the world of non-fungible tokens in March 2021, to produce work for cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com's new NFT marketplace.

Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are a special class of digital assets that cannot be exchanged with one another for equal value, or broken down into smaller bits. They often operate as a type of collectors' item and cannot be duplicated.
