A day after Lok Sabha passed the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill 2021, Rajya Sabha witnessed a huge uproar by the opposition as it was passed in the upper house.
Amid sloganeering, the opposition including the Aam admi Party called the bill unconstitutional and demanded the bill to be referred to a select committee for scrutiny.
Several parties including the BJD, YSRCP and Samajwadi Party called the bill un-democratic and staged a walk out.
Minister of State G Kishan Reddy said the amendments were in ‘no way undemocratic’ and the bill in no way created problem for the Delhi government. AAP will move Supreme Court challenging the bill.
