The athletics stadium belonging to Army Sports Institute will be renamed after India’s Olympic hero Neeraj Chopra. The stadium in Pune will be renamed in a public ceremony which will be attended by
defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief MM Naravne on 23rd August.

Interestingly, Chopra has trained in the past at this facility which has world-class facilities like synthetic tracks, spectators’ sitting area and much more.
Neeraj Chopra entered history books as he became the first Indian to win an athletics gold at the Olympics when he took the top honour in Men’s Javelin Category at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
